Source: EU may prolong anti-Russian sanctions on Thursday
BRUSSELS, Dec 12 (PRIME) -- The E.U. plans to prolong the economic anti-Russian sanctions that expire at the end of January 2018 on Thursday after a report of Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel and France’s President Emmanuel Macron on the situation in Ukraine’s southeast, a high-ranked E.U. source told reporters on Tuesday.
“We expect that Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Emmanuel Macron will make a report on implementation of the Minsk agreements during the working dinner. This will allow us to prolong the sanctions at a technical level after the summit,” the source said.
